As part of the "Miura Forest Project" by Keikyu Corporation, we are pleased to announce the release of the "Japanese Forest Tumbler" made from timber harvested through forest management, starting from February 22, 2024 (Thursday).

This product is a reusable eco-cup developed jointly by Asahi Breweries, Ltd. and Panasonic Corporation in 2019 as a "non-disposable" beverage container, utilizing 55% of thinned wood from Miura Peninsula's company-owned forests. This marks the first initiative by the Keikyu Group to launch a product derived from company-owned forests.

The design of this product comes in two variations: the 1000 Series (1890s) vehicle diagram design, and the ukiyo-e style design collaborated with illustrator "ICHIRAKU STUDIO" based on the 1000 Series (1890s). The ukiyo-e style design, suitable for use as a souvenir from Japan, will be available at select plat hostel keikyu locations. Additionally, we aim for sustainable operation by replacing some of the hostel's fixtures with this product. The vehicle diagram design is available for purchase at the Keikyu Museum.

Ukiyo-e style design

　This project aims to further demonstrate the carbon dioxide absorption function of forests through sound forest management, and to create beautiful, functionally rich forests that will lead to the future while maintaining biodiversity. By releasing upcycled products made from thinned wood from Company-owned forests, we aim to publicize and attract interest in the nature and forests of the Miura Peninsula and contribute to the realization of a recycling-oriented society.
