Asakusa souvenir No.3!!!
Hello everyone.
We are plat hostel keikyu asakusa Karin.
It's September and summer is coming to an end.
How did you spend your summer this year?
This time, the third Asakusa souvenir that our customers love!!!
We found some delicious souvenirs that I would like to share with you.
This time, I'd like to introduce you to a souvenir store called Funawa, located on Nakamise Street in Asakusa.
The exterior of the store is wonderful, and the store is open, so you can easily find it when walking down the street.
There are so many delicious-looking sweets lined up, you can't help but want to enter.
I would like to introduce you to one of Funawa's recommendations, "Anko-dama".
Anko-dama is a Japanese confectionery made of bean jam rolled into a ball shape and wrapped in agar agar.
Funawa's Anko balls come in a wide variety of flavors azuki, white beans, green tea, coffee, mandarin oranges, and strawberries. The colors are colorful and pretty to look at.
Each piece is shiny, beautiful and bruised Japanese sweets.
The sweetness was moderate, and the individual flavors were so strong that even people who don't like Japanese sweets could easily eat them.
The texture when you bite into it is unique and delicious.
Next is imo yokan.
Sweet potato yokan is a Japanese confectionery made by peeling sweet potatoes and kneading them with sugar and salt.
Funawa's Imo yokan does not contain any preservatives, so you can enjoy the natural taste of the sweet potatoes.
As soon as you put it in your mouth, the taste of sweet potato spreads to your mouth.
The texture is soft and can be easily eaten by people of all ages.
And what a surprise!I'd like to share with you a recipe that Funawa's recommended to arrange.
It was called baked Imo yokan, and there were two ways to bake it.
・Bake the Imo yokan in a toaster oven.
・Bake the Imo yokan in a pan with butter or margarine.
The toaster oven gives a savory taste like a baked potato when baked thoroughly.
Those who use butter or margarine will find that it has a western taste.
If you like, you can add ice cream or cinnamon to make the Imo yokan look and taste like a Western-style dessert.
I baked it in a toaster and then topped it with ice cream. I ate it as if it were a dessert, not as if it were Japanese sweets. It was very tasty.
How did you all like it?
I have introduced some wonderful Asakusa souvenirs to you again.
I know there are some people who do not like Japanese sweets, but this is a souvenir that will please even those who do.
Both were very tasty. We divided it among the staff, but we ate it all up.
Even as we walked, there were signs and posters that caught our attention.
Why don't you buy anko balls and sweet potato yokan from Funawa-san as souvenirs of Asakusa?
If there are any good souvenirs or recommendations, I would like to introduce them to you.
