Recommended! Asakusa souvenir②

Hello Everyone.

We are plat hostel keikyu asakusa karin.

The cherry blossoms season has passed completely, and it is now a full-fledged spring. It's been a warm and comfortable season.

By the way, I would like to introduce Asakusa souvenirs this time as well.

Introducing this time is Japanese traditional sweets「Karinto」 and 「Dorayaki」

Let's start with Karinto.

karin1.jpeg

Karinto is a sweet made by kneading wheat flour with sugar, water, yeast, salt, baking soda, etc. into a stick shape, fried in oil, and entwined with honey made from brown sugar or white sugar.

Some items are packed in small bags, and the shelf life is about 1 to 2 months, which is easy to choose as a souvenir!

This is Karinto from 『Karin-coron』in Asakusa

Although it is a new store that opened in 2012, it is a store that confidently offers discerning gems born from carefully selected materials and manufacturing methods!

At Karin-coron, there are many variations, from standard flavors to unusual flavors such as yuzu(small citron fruits), kinako, ginger, brown sugar, and honey!

We tried it with all the staff, but the sweetness spread in the mouth with a crisp texture and a faint scent. It was so delicious.

"We want you to enjoy the 'fun of choosing' along with the colorful packaging of Karin-coron." The owner said.

Please stop by and try it!

Next is Dorayaki.

Dorayaki is a simple sweet that is divided into dough and sweet bean paste.

There is a lot of difference in taste between each shop because its simple ingredients so it depends on each shop that add honey or brown sugar instead of white sugar, and buckwheat flour instead of wheat flour. It seems that the method of cooking sweet bean paste is also different depending on the shop.

There are many delicious dorayaki shops in Asakusa, but this time we will start from the most popular shop called "Kame-jyu"

karin4.jpeg

Kame-jyu is so popular that you can always see a long queue at the front of the shop.

In addition to the standard black bean paste and white bean paste, there are also kuri-kinton(chestnuts), some of which are eaten in combination with strawberries and matcha.

We tried black bean paste this time. When we started eating it, I couldn't stop eating, and finished in a second! No wonder the reason for the procession, and I wanted to wait for a long queue and get it again!!!

The next dorayaki is 『Asakusa Soratsuki』
karin6.jpeg

Dorayaki has a fluffy dough, a volume that does not fit in your mouth, and plenty of bean paste.

Depending on the time of day, popular shops may wait for about an hour.

It lasts for about 3 days and is very popular as a souvenir!

In addition, they also have colorful rice dumplings, so it is recommended that you enjoy each with your friends and lovers!

And Soratsuki's exterior is photogenic, so you can take good photos:).Why dont' you stop by for your sweets time?
