HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE !!

This is plat hostel keikyu haneda home.

We hope everyone will have a great great time this year.

Thank you for staying at our hostel last year during this difficult time.

We are ready to welcome you in perfect condition this year as well, so please come and stay.

Well, speaking of new year's day in japan, everyone goes to temples or shrines for ''Hatsumode''.

(Hatsumode is to visit a Buddist temple or Sinto shrine after New year comes.)

Today, we introduce Hatsumode that we did a few days ago.

We were very mindful about Covid situation when we visited.

The Haneda shrine we visited is near the hostel and known for the locals, so not many people were there.

It's built in the Kamakura period and has a lot of history behind.

There's always many people who work in airline companies come to pray, also tourists before their flights.

There is a spot in the shrine where you hang ''Ema'' which you write your wishes on a piece of wood, and we saw a lot of ''Ema''.

This is where you put some money in and make a wish.

We wish everyone to stay safe and healthy in 2021!

We tried to see our luck for 2021!

And we call it ''Omikuji''. This indicates your luck of the year.

We got ''Daikichi'' which means Great blessing, and ''Suekichi'' which means Small blessing.

And there's a message says ''Don't be greedy, Do everything you can for people''

I would be mindful of temptations and I'll try my best to be a good person!

We had this traditional Japanese decoration for New year at our hostel.

The pic above is ''Kagami-mochi'' and crane origami!

Cranes in Japanese tradition is to live long and people believe cranes bring good fortune.
