plat hostel keikyu asakusa station Solo Travel in Cambodia
Hi! It's been a tough time for those who like to travel around the world, but it's also a great time to think about your destination for next trip!
So we want to share memories and experiences of our staff's world trips and hope it will be your travel tip and feels like you are traveling!
This time it's going to be a Siem Reap, Cambodia which has the famous world heritage "Angkor Wat"
.
Firstday,I went to "Benmeria Ruins" which looks like "Castle in the sky".
It takes about one and half hours from Siem Reap city. On the way, it was just a single road on a wide field and saw little villages on the sides. It was real life in Cambodia, the style of how they live was not grateful but they knew a lot of practical knowledge and looked happy.
There are many places where debris has collapsed.
Debris looked the same but each place had a specific atmosphere. Moreover the each plants which are wrapping the old buildings were also a big difference. I enjoyed walking around all places most of the day.
In addition,"Benmeria '' means "Bouquet pond" but I felt sad because the place had collapsed.
After Benmeria, I had dinner with guest house visitors. I had a great experience eating insects before.
So this time,I tried pupa, scorpion and tarantula. I thought that I used to eat cricket and grasshoppers, so I didn't feel scared to try it. However,I hesitated a little because of the size.
Tarantula was so delicious because the texture of each part was different. Especially I liked legs. It was an amazing experience for a new challenge.
Not only climate and specific clothes are fun matters for travel in other countries.
Enjoying a different culture meal is also an advantage.
Second day, I went to "Angkor Wat". There were three kind of tickets. The price is $37 daily pass that is available for only buying day. $62 for three days pass that is available for within ten days from buying day.$72 for a week pass that is available for within a month from the day of purchase.(Please check latest detail on website)
I left the guest house around 4AM.
I didn't see any silhouette because it was too dark at first. Little by little the big ruins appeared and showed how big "Angkor Wat" is.
There are tons of sculptures on the wall and I was surprised with the creativity and architecture where there was no machine when it was built.
Also, I feel the strength of the vitality from "Ta Prohm" and "Lake Tonle Sap" just shows us the fact that as long as we put an effort, we can live in any situation.
Good thing was the owner of the guest house that I stayed at was japanese so there were so many Japanese guests and we shared a lot of information with each other.
Although it was a three days trip which was too short and I didn't have that much information, everything was really impressive and I already want to visit there again.
There are a lot of travel lovers coming to our hostel, so we hope the situation will get better soon and we're looking forward to sharing great memories about many countries with our guests..
I'll see you in the next post "Travel in Thailand".
Please look forward to it!
