Go to a day trip from plat hostel keikyu asakusa station②
Hi there! This is plat hostel keikyu asakusa station.
How's everything going?
It's been raining a lot recently here but it's starting to just feel like fall.
Anyways, How was the last blog post of "Go to a day trip from plat hostel keikyu asakusa station①"?
We went on a trip again following the concept of our hostel which is "The hostel that makes you want to go on a trip by train".
The place we went to this time was Oku-Nikko in Tochigi prefecture!
Yessss!! We went to the mountain!
It took us about 3 and half hours in total by train and bus.
This trip was a bit different from just sightseeing around Nikko city considering that Oku-Nikko is more like where you could enjoy the beauty of nature.
Take the Tobu Nikko line going toward Tobu Nikko from Asakusa station and get off at Tobu Nikko station.
At Tobu Nikko station, transfer to Tobu bus going to Yumoto Onsen and get off at Yumoto Onsen which is the last stop.
Although the time spent in the bus is pretty long, I think moving toward deeper in the mountains feeling changes of scenery and temperature is also another part of what's fascinating about this trip.
On a side note for those who don't like the hot weather, the temperature of Okunikko doesn't get as high as that of Tokyo which is super comfortable
When I passed by Nikko Irohazaka which is famous for its sharp curve, I felt really excited to get close to the destination!
As you get close to Chuzenji lake, the temperature goes down little by little, and some people call it Okunikko from this point.
Look at how beautiful Oku-Nikko is.
I got off at the last stop and a beautiful scenery was just spread out there.
There are people having fun with fishing, getting on a boat or kayak but also I think it's quite nice to just look at this beautiful pond with silence.
One of the best parts of the Oku-Nikko trip is to go on a walk while surrounded by green.
There is a hiking course so you can just have fun walking comfortably out there.
On the way back to the station, we stopped over to go see Ryuzu waterfall!
That was so impressive and it looked as if a dragon was swimming in it.
We went there as a day trip this time, but It will be nice if you can stay there one night. It is actually said that you could find the milky way in the night sky so you can enjoy nature at night too.
Since there are a lot of hot springs and ski resorts in Okunikko and that probably makes everyone imagine of winter, but I think It's also special to go there in summer when it gets really hot so you could feel summerish in Japan as well.
When you want to take your mind off your everyday life and have a little rest, you should go feel nature.
I'm sure there would be a wonderful view spread out in front of you.
Why don't you go on a trip by train from our hostel?
