This is plat hostel keikyu asakusa karin.
Today, We would like to introduce the games that are rented out for free at our front desk.
We have Cards and UNO, also offer some unique board games such as "double" and "bounce off".
Among them, the board game that has been well received by guests from overseas is, "Othello"!
Othello is a Japanese board game that was born in Mito City, Ibaraki Prefecture.
Guests from overseas are curious about the game they have never seen and ask how to play it.
The rule is really simple, so once you learnt how to play Othello, you can play. That is one of the great point of Othello.
Unlike other games that can be played by a large number of people, it is a one-on-one serious game
Guests from Azerbaijan and Germany who stayed around last summer were hooked on Othello and played together every day.
They both were solo traveler, but they got really close through playing Othello.
It's very good thing that games give a chance to communicate.

This is a game called "bounce off" which is used ping-pong balls and make a specific shape on the base. It is fun but quite difficult game, sometimes you are really close to make a shape but the other team will try to steal your spot...
"Doble" is a card game which is find the same symbol on your card and leave on the deck. The card on top of the deck will keep changing every few seconds so you need to concentrate and find a same symbol.
You can play with anyone, from children to adults and people from different countries.
This is our favorite game, so we always excited when we play Doble.
