SETSUBUN celebrate with Kenchinjiru

We'll have Setsubun Party in 3rd February.
For many centuries, the people of Japan have been performing rituals withthe purpose of chasing away evil spirits at the start of spring.

How is Setsubun celebrated?
In 3rd Feb Setsubunis typically celebrated by families who gather together to throw roasted soybeans out their front door, or at a family member (usually the father) who is dressed up as anoni(demon), while chanting"Oni wasoto! Fukuwauchi! (Demons out! Good fortune in!) Bean-throwing events are also commonly held at elementary schools and kindergartens.

What is Kenchinjiru?
Kenjinjiru or sometimes spelled as Kenchin-jiru("jiru" means soup in Japanese) derivedits name "Kenchin" from "Kencho" -the Zen Buddhist temple, Kencho-ji in Kamakura.
created as a Buddhist temple cuisine, Kenchinjiruis a clear soup cooked with root vegetables, tofu, shiitake and kombu stock. It's a well balanced, flavorful soup if you're looking for a meatless meal on a cold night.The original Kenchinjiruwas considered as ashōjinryōrior traditional Buddhist templecuisine, which consists ofa vegetarian or vegan diet. Whilemost Japanese cooking requires fish-base stock "dashi", this soupuses kombu to flavorthe soup.
